Brazil – the biggest country in South America, ranging from the Amazonian basin in the north to Iguaçu Falls in the south. A country not only known for the Amazon, dense rainforests and numerous exotic animal and plant species, but also for its beef and prime steer. Endless natural grasslands and appropriate rearing operations in large herds: The quality of Brazilian beef is unlike any other in the world. As a meat importer and wholesaler with more than 70 years of experience, we maintain close relationships with Brazilian breeders and slaughterhouses in order to give our customers the benefit of Brazilian beef in premium quality.
No country in the world exports more beef than Brazil. Here, meat production and the associated deforestation is coming increasingly into conflict with the diversity of species in the rainforests. None of our partner operations from where we import our goods are located in the Amazon region, meaning that no forests are torn down for the required pastures. This is a matter that lies close to our hearts at Jacobsen – and is also a condition that operations have to meet to obtain EU approval.
Optimally adapted to the climatic conditions of Brazil, the Nelore cattle breed stands for an entirely special flavour experience and boasts a low fat content. Our breeders are also increasingly relying on mixed breeds from Nelore and British breeds in order to improve the quality of the meat even further.
